Feb 19, 2018:     SAHMA at the Botanical Gardens in partnership with Chef Dave Tarrazas and Event Coordinator Myra Pilant in association with SAWS San Antonio Water Systems.  We have come together to offer an interesting course on the history of herbs, how they would have been used and how we can incorporate them into a healthy diet that would have been acceptable to the Meso American culture thriving here, long before the first Europeans put in an appearance.  Water conservation is an integral part of this course and we will learn how to use even the most basic containers, to grow herbs and vegetables, decorative plants, shrubs and trees with just the barest amount of water.  This is your chance to see and participate in the newest kitchen addition to the Gardens, built around a fabulous culinary garden, this is a stunner!  For further information on course particulars, please call the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

In addition to the two major events we hold each year, Basil Fest and Herb Market, the San Antonio Herb Market Association can be found speaking at various locations around the county.  In our mission to promote the use of herbs, we partner with local nurseries, colleges, community groups, and host local events to offer Herbal seminars on how to grow, cultivate and use the herbs you grow.  We give cooking demonstrations and talk about the benefits of adding herbs into your everyday cooking for a healthy lifestyle.  As we schedule events each year they will be shown here, so check back often.  If you would like to be added to our email list for notification of  upcoming events, go to the Contact Us and fill out a request.  We do not share email addresses - EVER.
